While Microsoft has made great strides to add more and more features for those who need everything organized, it's just not "there" yet in the functionality. Everyone's needs are different, and there is no "end-all-be-all" task manager that checks all the boxes. It's easy to say that the "best" app, especially in the task/project management space, is the one that works best for your needs, but that's just simply the truth. Outside of that, Microsoft To Do is just a great to-do app that is completely free, provided that you are willing to give up some flexibility and customization options. The integration with Outlook and other Microsoft services make this a closer battle if you are entrenched in that ecosystem. For all that Microsoft has done, there are still quirks about the interface on the whole that make it tough to recommend over Todoist. There are still some lingering Wunderlist design aesthetics, primarily in the theming department, and that will make a transition easier. Microsoft has really made some great strides with To Do, especially as it finally got serious about the app and closed the doors on Wunderlist. Source: Andrew Myrick / Android Central (Image credit: Source: Andrew Myrick / Android Central) It's an app that you can make as complex or as simple as you want, and looks great in the process. There are projects, sub-projects, sections, reminders, and simple calendar syncing to keep track of what needs to get done, when, and where. Plus, you can really turn Todoist into whatever kind of project or task management service you want. Being able to write down a task as it comes into your head, without extra formatting or pressing more buttons, is simply invaluable. Even with the monthly/yearly subscription to unlock the "meat" of the features, Todoist just does task management right and is quick and easy to use. If you struggle with managing your tasks and need more fine-tuned control over your projects, then you'll want to use Todoist. To Do's limitations are few and far between, but you will miss out on Natural Language Parsing, Project Templates, and limited calendar syncing. Simply download it, sign up with your Microsoft account (if you choose to), and use every aspect of the app, including reminders. You don't even need an Office 365 subscription to sign up. The app is completely free, and there are no hidden features that need to be unlocked. Microsoft takes a different approach with To Do. This will give you a feel for the app and all of its features, allowing you to decide whether Premium is right for you. The best way to get started is to take advantage of the 30-day free trial that Todoist offers for first-time users. Pricing starts at $36 per year, which works out to $3 per month if paid up front, or you can sign up for a monthly subscription in the Play Store for $4 per month. Even the Premium subscription doesn't grant you collaboration options such as a Shared Team Inbox and the ability to assign member or admin roles. This is one aspect where Todoist falls very flat, unless you sign up for Todoist Business (for $5 per month, per user, billed annually). The app easily integrates with Office 365 apps and services like Outlook, and you can share projects and tasks with other teammates to get the work done. If there's one thing that Microsoft used to set To Do apart, it's the collaboration. Source: Microsoft (Image credit: Source: Microsoft) Are these apps really all that different? There have been regular updates, some that have come much faster than expected, and we can't help to think that Todoist is trying to keep ahead of the competition. This new initiative promised faster task management, along with improved features such as project Sections, a new Task View, and an easier way to add tasks from the mobile app. The latest of these updates started in October 2019, where Todoist's parent company, Doist, announced Todoist Foundations. Recent updates have made the app even better across the board. Until recently, some potential users of the app were put off by its complexity because the truth is that Todoist can really handle just about everything you need it to. The app got its start all the way back in 2007, and is still trucking along while turning into the de-facto task management app for professionals and novices alike. That brings us to Todoist, a staple in the Play Store and on a myriad of devices and platforms for years. You can play this game by yourself or invite your friend to have a go at it. This is an online game that is full of twists and jokes that will get you frustrated but also make you laugh. How many serious questions can you answer? How many clever references can you understand? There’s no time limit for each question, but part of the challenge is to solve the entire quiz until your lives run out. You don’t even need to take it that seriously. And don’t worry, because this is not a game you need to study for. The game has a total of 110 questions, plus The Epic 10 questions for the finale. It’s still around and still as perplexing as ever. You may remember this as the same puzzle game that you played in your childhood. The Impossible Quiz is a classic and very clever brain teaser, multiple-choice style. The Impossible Quiz Photo by hackedfreegames Overall, Toontown is a game with a very playful environment and universal appeal.ģ. Surprises always wait behind doors and boxes as well. There are also talking mailboxes, manhole covers, and water fountains. Players can run, climb, and take tours of the Fantasyland attractions. The play areas in this town are designed for much smaller children. The town itself is a fanciful representation of Disneyland or any other wacky cartoon community where all the Disney characters live. Toontown was largely inspired by the Disney animated feature “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” in which humans were able to enter the world of cartoon characters. The cartoons fight against pale, robotic villains called “cogs.” These are creatures who want to turn Toontown into their latest business venture. The game allows users to create or design their own cartoons. Disney was thus forced to close the final server in September 2013. Newer games eventually overtook the game. The game was available through several online servers for around ten years. Disney’s Virtual Reality Studio developed this marvelous game, which was released in 2003. It’s built for kids, teens, and adults of all ages. Giving you a good dose of nostalgia, Toontown is another example of a popular multiplayer online game. Thankfully, the same policy is still observed today. Teenagers and even children took advantage of this and so the program needed to kick them out of the game. The downside, though, is that the original Club Penguin didn’t have a filter or swear words. The main difference is that you have igloos instead of houses. The anthropomorphic concept of this game very much reminds us of Animal Crossing. You could also do plenty of penguin-life activities such as ice-fishing and sled-racing. They can also purchase fluffy pets, and date fellow penguins. The penguins earn coins to decorate their igloos. The game is currently available online for free.Ĭlub Penguin is a virtual world where players live as penguins. It became a tool for youngsters to talk to their friends and have fun. The game’s social nature brought in an influx of high school and college students playing the game after. The game was re-launched as an app in 2011 and celebrated 150 million users. Originally released in 2005, Club Penguin saw plenty of ups and downs over the years. Get your dose of nostalgic games with Club Penguin, a massively popular multiplayer online game. And if you’re an avid game player who uses the PC most of the time, here’s a helpful guide on the best games to play on PC. Which is why we might as well enjoy these games while they last. They’re already under threat of becoming obsolete due to the rapid influx of new games. There’s no telling how much longer these games will be available online. But every game on this list managed to make a comeback. Plenty of gaming companies on this list have canceled the games on this list at some point. These nostalgic video games are the humble beginnings of the industry, and they still deserve the same admiration as modern video games. They’re also a poignant reminder of just how far we’ve come in terms of video games. Nonetheless, they were the best that the budding gaming industry could offer at the time. Games from the early 2000s didn’t have the best graphics or features like the ones we have today. With your permission, I would like to show your photos on this thread to my camera club so they can see 1) some wonderful photos and 2) how Helicon works. I bought the PRO version when it came on the market and regularly update -freely- the program ! Of course, the "lifetime" version is more expensive, but it all depend on you needs. I don't use Helicon that often, but do you have to pay an annual fee? I guess this distortion has another "shape" than the one you get by focussing step by step from the nearest point of the object to the farthest one ! In any case, even if you use a rail to move the whole combo forward (while NOT rotating the focussing ring), there will be some distortion. Helicon Focus apparently only uses the SHARPEST part of each image and stack it with the SHARPEST part of the previous/next image ! Can you elaborate about this or does Helicon compensate. I have always thought that when you rotate the focus ring with a macro lens the "size" of the object changes. I have a question about using the macro lens in a fixed position and rotating the focus ring in Helicon. The Consumer Price Index increased 8.3% annually in April, slightly lower than the 8.5% in March, as a drop in gasoline prices offset a continuing run-up in food, rent and other costs. Biden and Democrats face major headwinds to maintain control of Congress during November's midterm elections as a result of the price rises that have made many consumers increasingly anxious. "My plan to address inflation starts with a simple proposition: Respect the Fed. With inflation at a 40-year high, Biden met Tuesday with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and promised to give him the space to tackle surging consumer prices. Yellen in March 2021 said inflation posed only a "small risk." Two months later, she said she didn't anticipate inflation would "be a problem." Earlier that spring, Biden signed his $1.9 trillion COVID-19 rescue plan into a law, providing a boost in spending that his critics blame for accelerating inflation. "I think I was wrong then about the path that inflation would take," Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in an interview on CNN. Is it because you’re a stay-at-home mom and this particular outfit is really just a go-to for fancy nights? That’s okay then, if you really love that piece and look forward to wearing it on fancy nights.įor example: I work at home, so my go-to outfit is sweats and a tee, but sometimes I speak at women’s events or at an online conference, and I need to dress up. By asking yourself when the last time was that you wore something, you’re forcing yourself to come up with a number of days or weeks – a definitive, straightforward answer. You’re not asking yourself if you wear it or if you will wear it, because it’s easy to lie to yourself and step pretty far outside the zone of reality with questions like that. Question #1: When was the last time I wore this?īy asking when you last wore each piece of clothing, what you’re doing is gaining a realistic perspective. Because I know you’re gonna take action on this post riiiiight? □ Let’s do a question-by-question breakdown to help you get a tighter grip on what this should look like when you tackle your closet. How do you simplify your wardrobe? What does decluttering look like when it comes to your clothes? First, you need to ask yourself a few key questions. If you need to get healthy and you’re overwhelmed, read this and anything else you can find on the internet to help motivate you to make the positive changes needed to expand your health, your happiness, and your confidence! An unhealthy body means unhappy eyes and a different lack of priority. Now, there’s a big difference in not feeling good in your clothes because you need to prioritize your joy more, and in not feeling good in ANYTHING because you’re not taking care of your body. I want every mom reading this to feel the same way. I feel comfortable and flattered in every single thing. I love my gym clothes, my sweatpants, my tee shirts, my nice work clothes – all of it. I can honestly say that I love everything I own, I wear every item on a very regular basis, and I get weirdly excited in the morning to get dressed. I dress my body in a way that makes me happy, excited to get dressed, and confident. I’ve had four kids, one of whom was eleven pounds (that’s not a typo) and I can say that my body is far from magazine-standards-perfect, but it is perfect for my purpose and what it needed to do, and I take pretty good care of it, so I dress it well. If you declutter your closet and you end up with next to nothing, that’s okay. Because you deserve it! It’s that simple. You should not be dressing yourself every day in clothes that make you feel anything less than glowing, adorable, fantastic, vibrant. Casual wear or fancy going-to-a-wedding wear, you deserve to feel really really GOOD. You deserve to feel incredible every day – whether you’re running errands, going out on a date, or staying home folding laundry. Me: Let go of everything that isn’t working for you, making you feel amazing, or is damaged. Other Mama: How can I implement minimalism in my wardrobe? There is NOTHING depressing about dressing that beautiful body of yours, mama! Rock it! No matter what shape stage it’s in. You CAN pull off that bright lip color because you’re bold, beautiful and amazing! It makes me so sad when I hear a friend say things like, “Oh I wish I could pull off a bright lipstick” or “I hate shopping for myself – it’s depressing!” We stay in super-mom-mode (official title) when we are getting better sleep, our babies have grown a bit, and we could be feeling a whole lot better about ourselves if we put in the effort. Sometimes though, we forget to come out of those seasons when they’re over. It’s kinda hard to think about how flattering your jeans are or how fresh your makeup is when you’re elbow-deep in boogers and poop and haven’t slept properly in eight months. Let’s face it… our self-care is typically bare minimum. Moms: we’re always taking care of everybody else, famously forgetting (or not caring enough) to take care of ourselves. |
